Here's an update on my crazy little Dragon Family and Current Projects

A while back I saw my dream dragon. Such a beauty but I couldn't afford her when she came up at auction. I happened to find her again a few days later after the auction, and she was still for sale. I was gone for a week and came back curious if I might find her again after finally securing some funds. She was gone... but to my surprise there was another young girl there that was identical and from the same line. Even though this isn't physically the same dragon, it is still the dream dragon I was hoping to someday make. Someone made it before me and I'm thankful because honestly I'm a collector more than a breeder... especially trying to make a designer work out.

Thank you to this breeder, and all of the breeders who are out there working to make beautiful difficult combinations available.

Also, I named her Selene.

Oh boy... My Peppermint project just doesn't want to behave. I'm getting great eggs from them, but not the right combination I need. At least I have more dragons to work with if these ones don't pass. I have all Summer to figure them out.

Coming to terms with the fact my pod will never drop an enkindler. I'm fine.

One more post. Meet my baby girl Talia. She isn't being bred, just living her best life with me in my Mermaid Nest.

When she reaches maturity she will have Zaetus Spikes (deep purple). She inherited most of her traits from her father's visible traits, and the sky ripples are from her mom Aurora (one of my favorites) as well as her eyes. Her claws were a bit more of a surprise. Such a pretty girl.

The community collecting and breeding dragons is full of wonderful and generous people. I don't want to share details of my encounter to protect their generosity and privacy, but when someone remembers you didn't have a hard to get trait, and then gifts it to you when they have extra... that means a lot. Thank you you all for being so wholesome.

Last night I finally got my Ascension Dragon! I will admit I obtained it in the market, but I am so happy to have this girl!

I've named her partly after "The Chariot". My first Tarot Deck (and only one) was themed after Dragons, and I dreamed about it the night before. I wasn't even looking for it. I didn't even know it existed. I was seeking an entirely different deck. I had dreamed about a golden dragon the night before as well. My Mother told me that the dream was a sign, and that I should definitely be getting the Dragon Tarot (she was helping me shop for it). Later, in the deck, I discovered that there was a Golden Dragon on one, and ONLY ONE of the cards in the entire deck; The Chariot. This was also already deemed as my representing card. Whenever I was overusing my deck and asking the same thing over and over it would throw me a reversed Chariot to tell me to stop going in circles, one of the times that I could feel the deck actually speaking to me (even if it was to tell me I was being a dumb child).

The Ascension Dragon is very important to me due to these memories. I thought I'd share this. Say Hello to Hoshiko | The Chariot.

OMG finally some good news. After failing to auction off some of my adored dragoness, one of the girls had 90% ardor so I figured "alright. I'll give her another try with the pink Tolrae". Welp. They dropped their egg. 3x tolrae xaytud eye, ruby horns (feather). Ornament is stone. This is a dream combo for me. Thank God she didn't move at auction. I've been dying for ruby traits on pink and she just delivered

Today was a good day. I saw the new dragon and picked it up but didn't hatch it yet. The only way I could fit it in a spot was if I rotated out my ruby project. I've been waiting for a Ruby Skin Drake to drop to mix with my triple Female of other Ruby Traits. It did, so I was able to start that couple and rotate out my doubles. Now I had room for the new dragon but here was the new struggle:

I needed it to be a female. I have a male and female Zenith, and thought it might be cute to add the bold rainbow to the prism rainbow. I hatched the egg... and it was a girl! I guess all of my dragon rotations today were meant to be.

Now if only my Zuldred Pod would get its act together and make me an enigma LOL

People may have noticed I suddenly disappeared. I'm still out of work currently but there have been a lot more appointments following that up and reviewing my status weekly, and it's been overlapping my usual time I was at Sirens. I haven't been able to scout pricing and what's out there for weeks so I've just fallen back to checking in on my pods and logging. I may be returning to work after next week pending a better review of my injury improving, but I'm also in the process of applying for a different career as the injury is always going to be there going forward in some fashion. So I'm doing alright, just sorry I haven't been taking extra time to be on and active in the dragon community.

Apparently I have a new favorite pass time of sim hopping and admiring all of the combinations that breeders have achieved with their Dragons. And then I end up coming home with a new Dragon every time. Oops.

Today I saw a stunning combo in a designer line that a breeder worked hard for. Black dragon with matching claws. Yellow eyes, Horn, and Ornament pigment. It was so lovely but I had to let it go this time. Maybe I'll find them again next pay day. I love discovering new eye catching combos.

I'd love to hear what people's favorite combinations are. Personal combinations that they found beautiful, eye catching, or unable to ignore (keep it positive!).

I've found a black dragon with sky blue ripples and light blue eyes. She was impossible to resist after seeing her a couple of times. I named her Aurora.
I've also found that I love the Purple with a dark Blue Ripple. I have a couple of them I couldn't ignore, though I haven't found one with the pink/purple eye yet. I think that would be a favorite.

And then sometimes you find the combinations you never expected, like the dragon I named Scald. Water Cyan color with the Peach Fire Markings. I could NOT take my eyes off her, even though I never dreamed I would go for those colors.

(Please forgive me for not using their official color/type names, I'm still new to the dragons, and am appreciating the colors/patterns more than the deep specifics).

Have you ever gotten crazy excited that you found what you were hunting for for your price range, and then you go to buy it while cammed at the wrong angle and you accidentally bought the wrong dragon? No? Just Me? Ah well. At least it was a pretty gal. If I can't turn her around, luckily I'm still glad to have her. Maybe it was just meant to be. (PS I still did get the one I was after).

The breeding game begins. Before I was buying Dragons for pets and breeding them out just because (until they were ancient). Now, I'm taking on the challenge of trying to breed out LE traits to help preserve them on the grid (and maybe build a beauty for next x-mas season, but we'll see). Oooooh Boy. Wish me luck.

I went to my first class today (class 3 - Dragon Breeding). Even though I've had dragons laying eggs this past week and had a general idea of what can happen breeding, the class really opened my eyes to the possibilities... and for me at least, the importance as a breeder of starting from starters, or a very trusted line... but you can never fully guarantee the line. Knowing that there is a set of the Visible Traits, and one set of Hidden Traits... and that only those go in to the mix of the offspring, really cleared things up. It's still a very involved effort though to get that nice fairly clean line going where you feel confidence in the traits being passed. I have a new high appreciation for the breeders who have taken the time, money, and mental focus to help achieve some reliable lines.

Welcome to the weekend! May your Dragon Lays be Bountiful Cuties

One of the first girls I adopted when I learned about the dragons... this is "Ripple". I don't know her background or if she's from a reputable breeder. I just know that she is the reason I fell in love with the Ripple on the Zaetus. There isn't anything crazy special about her compared to what breeders are building as designers, but she was the first combination I loved. I later met the dragon I named Aura that perfected the combo for me. Still, Ripple is important to my dragon journey.

Today is a big day. It's EGG DAY. I'm expecting 3 more eggs today (I only have small groups, this is my biggest day of the week). I woke up to one already

The egg I'm most anxious about is from a new mom and dad ginger. They may not pass anything, but it would be exciting if they did

Just built my first targeted pod. Ultimately, I wish to build a Fruzayl Skin/Pigment(horns and ornament) on Spike Horns or Fin Horns, with Stone Ornament. Then the Ripple Sky Marking. Dad is in the back, all Mom's in rotation are in the front.

Aiming for a white or blue eye. Dad has white, two of the moms have blue. Some of them have supportive backgrounds, some I have to go by the non-hidden traits to start. I'll be able to build one of my dream dragons from this lot, and maybe even start to work on what may one day be a strong line. Who knows. But here's the messy start. Wish me luck! (I also have a new momma that I love her colors... the one on the far right. Aurora is the black one and already one of my favorites).

I took my lovely adoptee Spooks out for a ride and dig today. This ol' man is gonna be 100 in just about a week, but I think I'm not planning to breed him anymore between now and then. I'm looking forward to gifting him an eternal feather

Today I found a lovely couple of adult DATs that I paired up. Immediately they birthed a perfect baby with all markings I wanted and pigments. How wonderful! Since it was a boy, I decided to name him Rikue after a doggo I had growing up. When he hatches and grows I'll post pictures! But for now he's an eggo.

I found a lovely drake with DOS of both Peppermint Horn from one parent, and Peppermint Claw from the other. Wish me luck that it's hidden! I'd really like to finally land on this trait (especially horn).

My Datentuds have laid another baby, and it was a 5x Dat with Smolder Ruby. Pretty girl. I have a future couple of 5x male with char and 5x female with ruby. I love these two, and hope they make people happy in the future. I'm still working on getting a zaetus eye on them because I personally love that eye.

What are some features you'd like to see in a future update?

We have the ability to wake a dragon at 30% sleep, but not the ability to let our dragon know it's okay to sleep. They won't sleep until 0% and then you can't wake them until 30. I've seen this affect some live bid panels. Wouldn't it be nice to plan a bit and let the dragon sleep sooner? Maybe you wish to take the dragon on an outing and want it to be rested more. EDIT: I realized this would defeat the purpose/use of the energy booster, so maybe this idea won't hold water.

We finally have ancestry! But can we make that available with a web link directly through the status menu? This would bypass a step for potential buyers not having them to take the UUID and make the URL or search the dragon/egg.

Could we maybe see the offspring of a parent in the ancestry? This could be helpful in selling parents of a successful line and helping prove that they are passing traits reliably in the RNG. I can see breeders and buyers benefiting from this.

These are just some ideas I've had for a future update. I don't know if these ideas are already out there or being considered. What do you as a user or fan of the dragons wish to see?
