Hey Mystical Fam! Hope everyone is having a great HUMP DAY! WOOT we are half way thru this week! Keep going we are almost to the weekend!
I thought it was time to talk about something that im not sure everyone understands, on question i get all the time is:
“Help, my breedable isn’t eating!” or “Help, my breedable is sick!” Range can be a common factor in both those questions. So, today, let’s talk about setting the range on your Dragons.
The range is set in meters and is the radius of a circle with the home point as the center. (The radius of a circle is measured from the center to its edge).
When a Dragon is first birthed its default range is set to 10 meters. This means that you must have food within 10 meters in order for them to eat.
When your Dragon is old enough to breed they will also have to be in range to breed to other Dragons.
Here are examples using a 10 meter Radius of food in range and out of range.
You can check the range on your Dragon by clicking then environment and complete. This will list all settings of your dragons in local chat.
Remember if you have movement on your dragons it is important to make sure that your dragon is always within range of the food.
The other thing I really want to stress to you is that if you are moving your Dragons in any way without rezzing please, please, reset home, this is the number 1 reason Dragons are not eating.
Pick up a DEM if you have a few Dragons and you can easily reset home in a few clicks!
To reset the range on a Dragon, click the Dragon, Environment, and Set perimeter, then you will have to type in the range you want in local chat.
I DO NOT recommend setting your range over 40 meters!!! or below 10 meters!!!
If you find that the range is not the issue, then try the following tricks before filing a ticket.
1. Re-rez (usually fixes 99% of the issues).
2. If the land is set to a group, are the Dragon and food set to that group?
3. If the land isn’t set to a group, are the Dragon and food set to the same group as each other?
4. Is the Dragon set to the type of food out?
5. Remember to reset home position if you edit mode
